The Cóndor Machay Waterfall is the ideal place for a day escape from the hustle and bustle of Quito. The waterfall is one of the highest among those formed by the Pita River on its way from the Cotopaxi National Park to Sangolquí. This river rushes into numerous waterfalls, including the Corazón de Piedra Waterfall, Gemelas Waterfall, and Cóndor Machay Waterfall, which is the highest of them, which can be visited following the same trail that is very picturesque and of great natural beauty. The Río Pita canyon has allowed the conservation of a great diversity of flora and fauna that must have once been very common in this area.
