Description

The Lagunas Verdes del Chiles are a set of three permanent and some stationary lagoons, located at the foot of the Chiles Volcano in the Carchi Province, north of Ecuador. On sunny days they offer us a very attractive view of a very intense green color, the result of sulfur accumulated in its waters due to the volcanic activity of the Chiles Volcano. This smell of sulfur reminds us that we live in the midst of active volcanoes. Contemplating the lagoons, it will be difficult for you to resist the temptation to take a picture, shimmering that intense green and the deep expanses of frailejones in the surrounding mountains.
