Description

Do you want to hike in the middle of the forest, next to the enormous and almost prehistoric leaves of the gunneras, admiring from one moment to the next the presence of birds such as hummingbirds or mountain guans? The Yanacocha Biological Reserve is the perfect place. It's a private reserve, managed by the Jocotoco Foundation. Its beauty and proximity to Quito make it an ideal place to take a day off in nature. There are some hiking trails within the reserve, all of them very attractive, which run through the high montane forest in the western foothills of the mountain range, where a very dense jungle begins covering the indomitable mountains until reaching the provinces of the Ecuadorian coast.
