Description

The Yanacocha - Cerro Ladrillos - Teleférico route begins in a place very close to the Yanacocha Biological Reserve, northwest of Quito, in the Nono Parish. The hike begins at an approximate altitude of 3,600 meters, initially with pastures that gradually give way to extensive moors following a ridge that leads to Cerro Ladrillos between Guagua Pichincha and Ruco Pichincha. The route is little frequented and is not signposted, in some sections it can practically disappear among the grasslands. The hike can include some of the peaks of the Pichinchas massif. Some people choose to finish at Guagua Pichincha while others continue along Ruco Pichincha towards the Quito Cable Car.
