    Description

    Day 1: Trail. Ruco Pichincha – Guagua Pichincha – Teleferiqo Quito

    We will go up with our transport to the Guagua Pichincha Volcano Refuge, where our clients can start this self-guided trail: Guagua Pichincha – Padre Encantado – Cerro Ladrillos – Ruco Pichincha; excellent acclimatization with a constant altitude over 4,000 meters, with the option of climbing one or more of the peaks along the way. The trail ends at the Estación Alta del Telefériqo Quito, where our clients can take the cable car and enjoy the wonderful views while returning to the city.

    Day 2: Free day

    Day 3: Summit of Iliniza Norte

    We will go up with our transport to the Parqueadero de los Ilinizas, where the path that leads to the refuge begins. The hike is attractive, initially next to the ancient paper trees (Polylepis), and then continuing along a ridge of páramo and sand until reaching the Ilinizas Refuge. We will make a stop to hydrate and recover our strength. Then we will continue en route, between sandbanks and rocks, with a spectacular views of Iliniza Sur and the surrounding mountains, climbing the slopes and rocks of Iliniza Norte until reaching its summit. The difficulty get at a highest IV degree, which our certified guides will help to reduce the risks to a minimum.

    Day 4: 11am Return to Quito

    Day 6: Ascent to the Cayambe Refuge

    We will leave Quito at noon in the direction of Cayambe; We will make a stop for lunch and continue to the “Ruales – Oleas – Berge” Refuge of the Cayambe Volcano. Dinner and breakfast included at the refuge.

    Day 7: Cayambe Summit

    We will start our hike to the summit at 1am, and we will be reaching the summit around 6:30 – 7am. If we are lucky with the weather, we will have beautiful views of the Inter-Andean alley and the great mountains of the Ecuadorian Andes, sometimes also the sea of clouds covering the Ecuadorian Amazon. We will return to Quito at 11am.
