Transportation to the Guagua Pichincha

We pick you up in Quito at the time of your convenience, in the Universidad Católica area (Avenida 12 de Octubre and Veintimilla) and we will take you up to the Refuge of the Guagua Pichincha Volcano. This is a one-way transportation, because the idea is that you hike the Integral de los Pichinchas on your own, going up to the summit of Guagua Pichincha (4793m), Padre Encantado (4602m), Cerro Ladrillos (4589m) and Ruco Pichincha (4710m), and then go down the trail to the Quito Cable Car (Teleferiqo Quito). Description

We offer you transportation to the Guagua Pichincha Volcano Refuge, depending on the state of the road and the number of people, it’s possible that we will drop you off a bit before reaching the refuge (about fifteen minutes hike).

You choose the time, the departure will be from the Universidad Católica area (or nearby).

This transport is very appropriate for those who plan to follow the Guagua – Ruco – Teleférico hiking route. The trail to the cable car is very clear and easy to follow; however it’s recommended to study the route beforehand. You can climb one or more of the peaks at the foot of which the trail passes: Guagua Pichincha, Padre Encantado, Cerro Ladrillos and Ruco Pichincha; you adjust the hike to your time and physical condition. The entire route extends over 4000 meters, its highest point is 4793m at the summit of Guagua Pichincha, which is an excellent training for climbing the highest mountains in Ecuador.

The vegetation is páramo with small Andean shrubs of many flora species. The climate varies greatly depending on the time of year; however, it’s necessary to be prepared for the cold and possibly the rain.
