Description

The Boliche National Recreation Area was born from some reforestation campaigns carried out in 1928 in what was the Romerillos Hacienda. At that time, the planting of pines and cypresses in our páramos was very common, although they are introduced species which significantly affect the ecosystem, they were planted for their beauty and for being timber species. This forest is currently preserved, with many ancient trees, being a very special and pleasant place to spend a day off. There are some trails where you can enjoy a hike under the shades, contemplating the impressive sight of these enormous trees, some with very wide trunks. The recreation area has also a campground, soccer field, covered huts to spend the day and barbecue grills.
