Rinconada – Cotopaxi National Park
Description
Rinconada is the established place for camping within the Cotopaxi National Park. It has two camping areas with capacity for dozens of tents, access to public bathrooms, and a small cafe - restaurant. The place is well located, at 3825 meters high, offering excellent Cotopaxi Volcano views on clear days.

How to get
Eastern Mountain Range; 47 kilometers in a straight line southeast of Quito, 16.3km southeast of Machachi.
- “Control Caspi” Approach: From Quito, take the Panamericana Sur highway towards Latacunga, passing Machachi, you go up to the Tiopullo hills and then go down towards Lasso. Just at the end of this descent you will find a well-marked detour that indicates the exit to Cotopaxi. The entrance road to the park is paved for the most part, in the middle distance is located the Cotopaxi National Park Caspi Control. A few kilometers beyond the control, to the left side is located La Rinconada.
