Description

The Santa Rita Ecological Reserve protects a 300 hectares majestic native montane forest, where a great diversity of flora and fauna is found. The reserve is crossed by the Pita River which canyons in this sector forming many waterfalls of great beauty, among them the Santa Rita Waterfall which can be visited by hiking one of the trails within the reserve. Other activities are also offered such as the Bike Park, for mountain biking and downhill lovers; the path to the Pasochoa summit, and other trails such as those that lead to La Chorrera Waterfall and Cascada Encantada Waterfall.

How to get

29 kilometers in a straight line southeast of Quito; 17.3 km from Sangolquí.

  1. "Sangolquí" Approach: From Sangolquí, Redondel del Colibrí, head along the E35 towards the south and turn off onto Juan de Salinas Street towards the Selva Alegre neighborhood, Club Los Chillos sector. Continue straight south along Juan de Salinas for 19.6 kilometers until you reach the Santa Rita Ecological Reserve.
